What a beautiful week sunny almost all week except yesterday and a storm came up with wind and rain in the afternoon hit hard and fast and then it was nice again.. Were at that time of year in Oregon when it can be in the 70’s and sunny one day, and a storm the next or even in the same day. We should see more nice days now but still more nasty than nice.

 

Well my kids are getting a boat they say for fishing but the one they are looking at looks more for skiing than fishing. J  I worry about a boat so much can happen and does here in Oregon where boating is such a big thing. And you don’t have to be an idiot to get into trouble. Just the other guy. Or the boat brakes down but I am happy they can get one if that is what they really want.

 

Went over yesterday to see my new puppy he’s so cute and has his eyes open now and starting to walk he sure a roly-poly. The friends that I am getting him from are suppose to move next weekend and one of them went off the deck on a bike (yes a dumb thing goofing around) thinking she could make it and ended up separating her shoulder so she wont be able to do much so next weekend I think I will be busy .lolol And yes I gave her the mom/grandmother talk of “WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!” Oh the bike is ok..lol

 

Golf Thursday was very good and weather was perfect. Was going to go to day but it is so wet out from the storm will wait and see if the other gal calls.

 

I watched a really cute movie last night “Must Love Dogs” kind of the same as Sleepless in Seattle. Now I have done the internet dating and had a profile on more than 1 dating service. Have met some nice men and even dated a couple for a while but most were soooooooooooo different. Or complete odd balls. Hum maybe they thought that of me too..lolol You can read about that on an old blog dated Dec 14 blog I did..

 

Well the coffee pot is calling my name and so is the Sunday paper. SO this one is short to day and unless something really exciting happens this is it for this past week.

The end of an other week, and a busy one.

 

Tuesday:

I got off work early and went to my two grandsons track met. They were both in the 500 miter run, 100 miter dash and javelin tossing. AHHHHHHHHHHHHhh  to be young and full of it..lolol. It was held at the High School Jesse the 14 years will be a freshman next year. It was nice to see the school and it is not far from his

home or mine which is good. The next met is May 4^th and I will also go to that one. I do enjoy watching the kids and glad they still want grandma there..:) I didn’t want to embarrass them so not once did I yell there names.. lolo but each when they saw me waived, they know how to butter this grandma.. Hard to believe only 5 years left of school for the youngest and then they are on there own. Both want to go in the service, Levi Army, Jesse either Air force or Navy. He is also interested in becoming a police officer, and next year will do a few things with the local police to give him a chance to see if that is really what he wants.

 

Thursday:

 Golf and I have to say it was the best class yet. I think I learned more in that one class about my swing than any class I have been in and all the tips friends have given me. IT was sooooooo cold and windy that it was hard to stay at the driving range but we stuck it out for an hour and then ran to our cars.lolo It had been a beautiful day and we were sure it was be later but about 5pm it started getting dark and by 7 the wind had picked up. Oh and did I say the course is across the street from a large dairy farm!! On a calm day you really don’t notice but on a windy one YEKS!! Bring back child hood memories.

 

Friday:

I got the crate for the puppy along with a teething toy, chew toy and a little bed to go in the crate. Next will be the slider door insert.  I went to the Goodwell looking for a baby blanket for him and they didn’t have any thing like that I was surprised I hadn’t been in one in years but though they have a lot of baby stuff.

 

Saturday & Sunday:

I house sat and dog sat this weekend, for the family who I am getting the puppy from. Fell a sleep on the couch with a LARGE Dalmatian and the daddy to my puppy. Why is it we humans lose the space war when it comes to pets..lolo

 

It is a beautiful day out and windy but they say maybe 74 today wow that would be a nice change.

 

News this week got to me.

 

The sad.

 How in the world do you tell a mother her little girl has been murdered and they guy was going to eat her. They say he had no record, never been in trouble, something is wrong here. How do people get to a point that far and no one notice?

How can people say this man is normal.. I shake my head every time I read that word when reading about the case.

 

Sports:

Paul Allan is still trying to find a buyer for the Blazers.. LOLO God for a rich business man he sure an odd ball. Terry Porter tried to get the money and some investors to gather to buy it but couldn’t come up with it all. I think he would have been good and maybe get the team back into shape. It uses to be such a good team.

 

The War:

What can I say here that wouldn’t upset some of you? All I know is we are still losing young men and women and we just don’t seem to be getting a head of the game. I will support the brave men and women as long as they are not at home and in harms way. But for the first time I am starting to questions what we are doing.

 

Amber Alert:

 

We has an Amber Alert this week for a little girl about 8 or 9 that was pull off her bike by a man and taken in his car. The search was on and the community was on alert. AND It was a lie the women who said she saw it was laying this makes me so mad. First the fear it put in the community, the time officers put in that takes them away from other needs, and the kids in the neighbor hood where it was suppose to happen get scared to death.  Amber Alert is such a good tool I hate to see it miss used.

The  photos were taken by my daughter for me today. the first one is Maddy the mom and the little guy is mine  and the other two are just photo off the internet of what he will look like full grown 

Maybe it's true a cops kids get into more trouble. But it was never really bad stuff just stuff that keep us all in trouble with mom and dad. I want to make it clear I was the baby and lead a stray by my older brother and sister.  

 

You all or most of you have read about my older brother Mike and myself and the trouble I use to get him into. He did bring a lot of it on him self but he could pick on me but no one else better..lol Mike was a normal boy who got in to trouble with his friends with mom and dad but nothing really bad. Mike did change when they sent him to TX to bible school he was 14 or 15 I think. He came back a bit boring and instead of picking on me I think he prayed for me A LOT!! Lolo But before TX Mike and his best friend Feral Hastings got in to things they should not of.  Here is one of the best.

 

This was when we still lived across the street from the Park, Friday and Saturday night’s young couples would park in the park and make out. Thinking it was safe as there were not many homes there, except we were right across the street. Mike and Feral use to watch for the cars and after the windows fog up and the couple had been there a little bit they would sneak up on the car and then start yelling , banging, rocking it and scaring the girl in side to get her screaming. Then they would run and hide or if had the time would run home. My dad told them to knock it off but that wasn’t going to happen. I really don’t know how long this went on but the young men in the cars were from the High School and I guess they got to talking about it with each other soooooooooo. One night Mike and Feral waited, and soon they saw the head lights and the car pull up and park. After a bit Mike and Feral went up to the car and started banging on it and rocking it and yelling. The way Mike tells it, all 4 doors opened and out climb a 100 angry young men with baseball bates, yelling and chasing Mike and Feral all the way to the front door of the house. Dad must have been watching cause the door open and in ran the boy and out stepped dad. Mike said he could hear the young men telling my dad what had been going on and they were just trying to teach the young boys. Dad told them they had made their point and didn’t think base ball bates were needed and to go home. Mike was grounded and punished. But he said he never did that again. We still laugh over this one at family dinners and to this day Mike swears there were 100 guys in that car and that is the only reason they ran ..lolol

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On the lighter side.

 

Back to my childhood as the youngest. My brother was not crazy about he’s little sister always bugging him so sometimes he’s getting even hurt us both.

 

We lived at the top of a hill and at the bottom of that hill was Blue Bell Lake and then you went up an other hill to get to our grade school. These were not little hills they were a good climb and coming up the hill to our place our home sat right at the top. My brother and his friends played a game in the tree in the front yard, you climbed as far up as you could clime out on a limb and wait for a car. Oh did I say this was done after dark. As the car came up the hill if his headlights hit you, you had to let go of the limb your on and drop down to the next one. The older kids knew the tricks and how to be sure they hit that limb.  So there I was at the foot of the tree crying I wanted to play. Bad choice on my part. My brother got down and helped up to the lowest limb. First I had no idea what I was doing. And there was not a limb below me, surprised I didn’t notice that aren’t you?

 

Well there we sat waiting, me holding on for dear life when here comes a car the light hit one of the other kids but he doesn’t drop (why do I think after all these years later that my brother told the kids not to) as the car reached the top of the hill and started leveling out the lights moved down the tree. Guess who it hit….DAAAAAAAAA the little one who knew that one rule when hit with the light let go and drop to the next limb.. HAY WAIT there is no next limb.. I can still remember how my chest felt with out air, and I was sure I was dying and would never breathe again. By time Mike hit the ground scared to death I had broken something from the sounds I was making. I could hear Dad… bellowing MIKE!!!! With out even trying I always got even..lolo

 

Growing up in the Midwest, and poor you did some odd things to have fun and limb dropping was one of them I never did it again, I rather play with my dolls!!

Sunday again, boy this was a fast week and faster weekend.  Monday the weather wasn’t bad. Tuesday took my car though DEQ after work. For those whose government hasn’t found this way to suck some more money out of you, it’s when you drive your car though and they check for exhaust leaks and other malfunctions. If you can’t get though one just drive to an other. But because I brought a used car I had to take it. It passed with flying colors. Wednesday I had a friend over for dinner and always enjoy company. And Wednesday  is when I found out my friend has breast cancer and still reeling from that news. Friday was Friday as they say TGIF..

 

 Yesterday took a friend to dinner to Gustav’s a German place and the newer location. We both had eaten at there other locations and enjoyed so decided to try this one.. YEKS it was awful. Our food was room temp, and just not good. I want my food HOT when I get it I may have to wait a little bit to eat it but I want it hot. The roll was cold and the butter hard. Will not go back there again.

 

Got an extra key made for my car and an extra remote. Having just 1 key and 1 remote doesn’t work for me. BUT because my key has a computer chip in it I had to go to the dealer and pay $156.00 to get both and get them programmed. The year of my car 2005 is still to new so I couldn't order it from a store or on line.  What happened to going to ACE hardware and paying 2.99 for key?  Don’t even get me started on auto makers and dealers kind of get me going like the DEQ thing..lolol

 

Today it’s just getting a few things done around her and if the sun comes out taking the car though a car wash.

 

I won tickets for a Blazers game tomorrow night and the 2 seats are in the Qwest sky box so that should be nice. I don’t know if you fellow basketball but the Blazers are tied for last place there year. We lost a good team years ago and never got them back.  Paul Allen is looking to sale them after several years of losing over a Million dollars on them each year. Boy it wouldn’t take me that long to understand I have a bad deal and let’s get ride of it.  I haven’t gone to a game in years I stopped when they started getting into so much trouble with the law, for drugs, wife beating, drugs, dog fighting, and drugs. You get the idea. If they put as much into there game as they do this crap they be a good team again.  

 

So next week will be a little busy with the game Monday then on Tuesday and Wednesday I will go to the gym, Thursday is Golf.

Have you heard the questions “Why does bad things happen to good people”? I think there is even a book called that. Well this week I was asking myself that very question. A very good friend of mine for almost 30 years has breast cancer and will have a double mastectomy.  Carolyn and I go way back to our drinking days and catting days. Remember those days when you went out dancing and drinking and get home just in time to shower and get to work. We have been though a lot together, our kids growing up and the pain that sometimes goes with that either from them growing to fast or maybe the decisions they make that turn out bad. Divorce humm I think that called for more drinking and dancing..lol Kids getting married, having there first baby, there divorces, losing mom’s and dad’s. Losing jobs and getting new ones. We have covered a lot of ground Carolyn and I. But I think this is the hardest bridge to cross. When talking to her she is trying to be so strong and look at the positive side. I can talk to her and hold it together alright because she does, but when I hang up I cry sometime just inside no tears but the ach in my chest is so real.

 

Carolyn is one of the kindest people I know and a great since of humor. Even tho we may not talk every day and sometime not for a couple months we were always there for each other and we both always knew that. She told me if her getting breast cancer make just one of her friends or family get check then it will be worth it. Her sister did and they found a lump they don’t have test back yet.  

 

PLEASE GET YOUR YEARLY CHECK UP!! DON’T THINK YOU COULD TELL IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM. PLEASE DON’T THINK “NOT ME, IT ALWAYS HAPPENS TO SOMEONE ELSE”

 

Carolyn got her mammogram every year and this one was not found. Her Dr. found it by luck. Check your self!!
