A Long Weekend.

Have a 3-day weekend and it is raining and the snow level has dropped. Mt Hood still have full time skiing and may be able to stay open though June. The campers this weekend are either huddled under tarps or heading back home already. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH that is what is nice about Oregon weather you  know what to expect on a holiday. lol

I am house setting this weekend and dog setting 3 dog + my new puppy who I will get next Friday. They are good dogs but I do not get a lot of sleep when you are sleeping with 3 dogs..lolol They have moved back into there old home after the fire in Oct it has taken this long to get the damage rebuilt.. So they have been hear about 2 weeks and much happier with a home they know and a big back yard.

Have a BBQ to go to tomorrow and I bet most of the guest are inside and the only one outside will

be my son in-law who is the cook. He should have on a wet suit.

I wrote a month ago about Carolyn my friend who had to have both breast removed due to cancer. She is doing great and I think better than her friends are doing. She is a strong woman and I admire her.

GAS!! a subject that gets to most of us. Right now I am only paying $3.03 a gal. I can't believe I just said ONLY but it is one of the cheaper stations. I am so glad I do not use Premium or Supreme. Every time I look at a receipt I cringe. I am trying not let it get below 1/2 a tank so it's not such a hard hit at one time.

Memorial Day tomorrow means so much to so many. I have always flown a flag in horner of  the men and women who have given so much to this country. And also for the families who also are giving upso much. Tomorrow for just a moment stop and think of the ones Memorial Day is for, even if you don't support the war please support the men, women and families.. Just a moment of your day to say thank you..

Peace

Sunday and bitching..

Another Sunday,

Ok where did this past week go???? It seems like the min I got up on Monday to go to work it was Friday... I guess that is good the weekend got here fast but it also makes me older faster. lol

Not a lot going on this week. I did up date the photos of Snickers my new puppy I will be getting him June 1st. Yesterday I order the slider door insert got it on sale on line for $159.99 and shipping was free. At the stores PetCo and Pet-Smart they were higher one was 179.99 and 1 was 199.99. Got the gate for the spare room door so the cat can get away from the puppy. Ming’s food along with his litter box and favorite chair are in this room. So it will give him a safe place to go. Ming is 8 years old and has been the only pet since he was about 1 year old and likes it that way. Plus he is about 20 lbs and if he got mad at the puppy just setting on him would do damage. lol The pup when adult will only weight between 12 and 14 lbs.

Well next weekend is a long weekend with the holiday and I will be house and dog setting that weekend and then on Monday going to a family BBQ.  I hope to get a game of golf in one night this week if it stops raining or at lest next weekend.

My twin nephews are graduating from high school this coming Friday. Both were home school and past the state test with very high scores. And they both are only 16. That must say something about the schools here in Oregon most kids who do graduate are 18 and can’t spell or do math, its sad what has happened to schools around the country.  And I laugh every time I here or read where education is free in American. NOT free and the kids who are from poor areas and families really have it tuff.  My grandsons are doing great in school but mom and dad make sure homework is done, and my daughter keeps in touch with the teachers and the school. They go to everything the boy are in and support what they want to try. I think that is what is missing now so many families both mom and dad work outside the home and instead of one or the other taking time off to go to the schools they pass it by. They are missing so much, for what? humm two cars, big house, boat, maybe a swimming pool. Don’t get me wrong I think it is great when a family can do all that but I think the kids need to be put first and they are not. You may think them having all that stuff is great but it won’t get them an education and prepared for adult hood. :) One last comment.. **STOP LETTING THE KIDS RUN THE SCHOOLS AND GO BACK TO ADULTS RUNNING THE SCHOOLS PUT BACK PRAYER, PLAGE OF ALLENCE AND DISAPLIN **** OH MY HOW DARE I SAY THAT GOD FORBID THE KIDS LEARN SOMETHING USEFULL... and last but not less

Congrats Eddy and Bill great job!!! OK OK I will stop, this is one of my soap box things.

Speaking of soap box here is one more.. I try to be a good neighbor, I don’t make noise before 9am or after 9pm, I don’t park in someone else parking space, I don’t pull in with my car radio blaring I turn it down as I pull in, ALL my trash get to the dumpsters, no wild parties, no yelling, no firing a gun off on New Years Eve, in fact I don’t do drive bys either.. So why is it that most neighbors do not respect those around them? I live in a nice place that is only 7 years old with reserve parking. The trash containers are close enough no one should have to dump it in the driveway, or maybe they just need to learn how to bend over and pick it up or stop sending the 8 year old with it to dump.  And reserve parking what a joke I pay 40$ a month for a reserve spot in front of my place and 80$ a month for a garage. I park in the garage most of the time and leave my space for my guest and family. And use it on weekends when I am in and out more. But for some reason the same neighbors always think they can park there I have left notes on the car and not nasty ones either, have told them not to park there the manager has knocked on there door and had them move their car and they still park there I have never had them towed but the manager said we need to I hate to do that I know it cost a lot of money to get your car out but maybe that is the only way they will learn cause being nice sure doesn’t work. You would think after being told not to park there so many times they get the idea.  I know some of you are saying why don’t you move. Well I like my home it is a nice apt. and it is a great location for me and I have been here 5 years. AND why should I have to move because some neighbors are JERKS!! GERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR…. Lolo

There is a nice cool breeze today so I need to get up and clean and do some laundry and get ready for next week. Hope you all have a great Sunday.

And what do your neighbors do that get to you???

Peace

HOW MANY DOGS DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE A LIGHT BULB

1. Golden Retriever: The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb?

2. Border Collie: Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code.

3. Dachshund: You know I can't reach that stupid lamp!

4. Rottweiler: Make me.

5. Boxer: Who cares? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark.

6. Lab: Oh, me, me!!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeze let me change the light bulb! Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Huh? Can I? Pleeeeeeeeeze, please, please, please!

7. German Shepherd: I'll change it as soon as I've led these people from the dark, check to make sure I haven't missed any, and make just one more perimeter patrol to see that no one has tried to take advantage of the situation.

8. Jack Russell Terrier: I'll just pop it in while I'm bouncing off the walls and furniture.?

9. Old English Sheep Dog: Light bulb? I'm sorry, but I don't see a light bulb!

10. Cocker Spaniel: Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark.

11. Chihuahua : Yo quiero Taco Bulb. Or "We don't need no stinking light bulb."

12. Greyhound: It isn't moving. Who cares?

13. Australian Shepherd: First, I'll put all the light bulbs in a little circle...

14. Poodle: I'll just blow in the Border Collie's ear and he'll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry.

How many cats does it take to change a light bulb?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Cats do not change light bulbs. People change light bulbs. So, the real question is:

"How long will it be before I can expect some light, some dinner, and a massage?"

ALL OF WHICH PROVES, ONCE AGAIN, THAT WHILE DOGS HAVE MASTERS, CATS HAVE STAFF!

WHY GOD MADE PETS

Mothers Day 2006

Hope you all had a Happy Mothers Day. Mine was busy as usual.. I started this weekend off visiting a friend who had surgery last week. Then went shopping for the BBQ today, went over to my daughters for a bit.

Today I started out with a Tee time of 10:10 for a womens only Golf tournament and then after they gave us a nice brunch we sat around and talked a while. Will not know where my 4some came in at till first of the week. After that Came home got ready for the BBQ and drove over to my daughters it was so hot today so nice for a change had the top on the car down all day today and yesterday. At the BBQ was some great friends and family and we also had a 1 years old birthday party for Zoie my God granddaughter. Eat way to much but isn't that what BBQ's are for. While there believe it or not the Dish Network guy was there putting in my daughters new Dish setup. so we invited him to the BBQ and he joined us too. As soon as he got done eating he got right back to work. Had the wadding pool up for the little ones, and just good yakking for the adults.  I will relax the rest of the evening and enjoy having all the windows and doors open.

Have the next week off from Golf classes, finish the first set of 5 last Thursday. Now the second set of 5. Class 1 has 16 women, class 2 has 8 women and class 3 had 4 women. I take them every year and learn something new each time. Today the 4 of us notices we all were playing better and feel it was due to the instructor we had this time.

Yesterday I was putting the car in the garage and as I made the little curve I have to do to get in I notice about 10 feet from me was the most beautiful, large BIG eared deer I have seen in a while. We get them here every once in a while as I live on the back side of a Nature Park and they come from there.  Being a country gal and all I am use to seeing them but I still enjoy it so much.  She watched me and keep eating the bush till my garage door started up and it makes a loud noise so she ran off. :(

My daughter does photography and I here is the link to her photo blog. any way I have decided which photos I want blown up to hang on my living room wall and in my bathroom. She takes some beautiful flower ones and this past winter of the snow up by Mt Hood. I have a large wall in the living room I need to put something big on so I will go with some of her stuff in poster size.

Well I am off to go get a coke, put my feet up and watch some TV.

Have a good week and a safe one.

A Happy Ending!!!!

She spent the first day packing her belongings into boxes, crates,  and suitcases. On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things.

On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining room table by candlelight, put on some soft Background music, and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, And a bottle of chardonnay.

When she had finished, she went into each and every  Room and stuffed half-eaten shrimp shells dipped in caviar into the hollow of all of the curtain rods. She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.

When the husband returned with his new girlfriend, all was bliss for  the first few days. Then, slowly, the house began to smell. They  tried everything: cleaning, mopping, and airing the place out. Vents  were checked for dead rodents, carpets were steam cleaned, and air Fresheners were hung everywhere!

Exterminators were brought in to set off gas canisters, during which they had to move out for a few days, and in the  end  They even paid to replace the expensive wool carpeting. Nothing worked.  People stopped coming over to visit. Repairmen refused to work in The house. The maid quit. Finally, they could not take the stench  Any longer and decided to move.

A month later, even though they had cut their price In half, they could not find a buyer for their stinky house. Word Got out, and, eventually, even the local Realtors refused to return Their calls. Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to purchase a new place.

The ex-wife called the man and asked how things were going. He told her the saga of the rotting house. She listened politely and said that she missed her old home terribly and would be willing to reduce  her divorce s settlement in exchange for getting the house back . Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad the smell was, he agreed on a  price that was about 1/10th of what the house had been worth, but only if she were to sign the papers that very day.

She agreed, and, within the hour, his lawyers delivered the  paperwork. A week later, the man and his girlfriend  Stood smiling as they watched the moving company pack everything to Take to their new home, including the curtain rods.

Don't you just love a happy ending

The "C" Word

What is it about the “C” word that seems to creep into our minds and emotions? Even though we know there is a 99% chance that all test will be ok, you let it eat at you.

I had signed up for last Friday the 5th off in Jan to take my daughter to her Birthday breakfast, but when my Dr. wanted me to get a biopsy on a growth on my foot that has been there about 5 years and had gotten bigger and sometimes ugly I decided to do it Friday morning early and not have to take more time off work. She sent me to a specialist because where it is there is not much skin so it would be a bit tricky. It took me a month to get into this clinic.

The Dr was great I like her right away but when she looked at my foot said “were not taking a biopsy were removing that right now”. She also said we need to look over your body. As she was doing this I told her a little of my sun back ground. A teen in Southern California on the beach every chance you get all day no SP32 back then. And then as an adult I was one of those women every day after work I stopped by the tanning booth and went on Sat. She about passed out and said are you kidding?. SO I decided to add the icing on the cake and told I have driven an open top car since 1979 most of the time no hat, no lotion and tub tops or thin strips lots of sun and a lot of sun burns..

I could have gone with out her next comment. “YOU DO KNOW YOU ARE A SKIN CANCER TIME BOMB?”!  I tried to smile and make light of it but if didn’t feel so light in my tummy.

They ended up having to remove 6 cancerous spots and an other two they did biopsy on. The results we will get back in about 2 week on those two spots.  I let it spoil my time with my daughter even though I tried not to act upset my inside were turning. Breakfast didn’t taste good and there was just something eating at me. I am sure all will be ok but that “C” word just seems to get to us all when its used with our names.

What I keep thinking and remembering when I was younger and my Aunt Easte use to tell me Jessie cover your self you opening the door to skin cancer.. My answer..

“God if that happen I will be 60 and then I will be so old I would not care!”  Well you know what I am almost 60 and I do care..

Once again the wisdom of a young adult falls off the bar stool!!..

Peace
