An other season gone by, here it is fall and we have not really had a summer this year.  A few days of temp's at 101 or so and a few in the 90’s but not like normal. Not a lot of rain just cooler days. And now we have our first storm of fall, with rain and wind. I have always loved fall and winter; time to bundle up when you go out, fire in the fireplace, hot tea instead of ice. 

I am not sure if is a sign I am getting older and settling in, or I am just ready to return to things I use to enjoy. Years ago when my daughter was a baby/toddler we lived in a place called Wilbur Oregon had a couple acre’s and was a stay at home mom. Baked 14 to 15 pies a day so we could have them when the fruit was not in season. Made home made bread, cook meals for 25 to 30 people on holidays and did a lot of canning. I always say the small print on my divorce papers state, “No more sewing (made most of my and my daughter cloths), no more baking and toss out the canning supplies, no more bucking hay. I was going to be a lady of the big city. Lolol. And I was, it was all replaced with drinking, dancing, and men and with no regrets I had one hell of a time. But I find myself looking forwards to baking this winter, having the oven warm my kitchen the smell of the pies or candy filling the house …CRAP that sounds like the beginning of a Christmas Story!! Snap out of it kid!! Just because you were sewing this morning for the first time in years. (Last time I made 4 brides maid dresses and 1 flower girl dress) you were just having a weak moment… The issue you ask? I was enjoying it, thinking about the winter coat I could make or even some nice tailored suites. AND I AM SOBER!!

Ok ok, maybe turning 60 in Aug set me back a little.. Let’s see ask myself a few questions.. Do you still like to dance? Yes I do. Do you still enjoy a drink? Yes I do a little Jose is good for you, do you still enjoy younger men? Yes I do and they still enjoy me! Ok pulse is normal, heart is beating, and I am breathing on my own.  All is good, So I will let you know how the pie’s taste, If I do sew a coat and I can even ware it in public and the canning….NO NO NO NEVER AGAIN that why God gave man the knowledge to build stores and have canned goods in them!!!!
